The VHF Course is a one day course teaching you how to use a VHF radio. Come to our London classroom Nr Waterloo or we can come to your office, your home, your boat or anywhere to teach this course.

If it’s more convenient we can also provide this course over two evenings. This has proved very popular in London.

The cost is £95 plus the £25 licence fee payable to the RYA.

Marine VHF radio usage is changing and everyone who goes to sea should be capable of operating a VHF radio effectively. It is also a legal requirement that to use a VHF set you must hold or be under the supervision of someone holding a VHF license.

Properly called The Short Range Certificate, or SRC for short, the course covers all aspects of using a VHF radio correctly including the new generation of radios fitted with Digital Selective Calling, DSC, for use within the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System. On successful completion you will be issued with a short range radio operator’s license.

We use the very best ICOM VHF radio training equipment and Simrad simulators.
